This is spot on Rachel. When I first got started in the online marketing game I spent 25K (!!!!) out of naivete on a business coach in the ClickFunnels world. He was actually great though and then I worked UNDER him as an employee 2 years later coaching our clients after having built a 6 figure revenue business myself, but it wasn't worth 25K imo upon reflection.
I learned over the years that the 'easier' money is in coaches coaching coaches (B2B), and selling the dreams instead which are not hard to fake after a while, and that's why all these coaches do this.
The problem is it's such a incestuous bubble that they lack awareness of REAL business in the real world - they have no knowledge of things like financial accounting, managing business cashflow, hiring and training a team, managing departments and payroll, raising funding not that you can get funding for service businesses really, there is an entire world out there beyond this internet marketing scam bubble.
Building real companies with real leverage & potential and not some small online business promising the world to others.
I half regret starting my career in this online marketing world now because I lack awareness of much of real world business. Sometimes wish I had recruited for IB or consulting from college. Anyone with a legitimate business background or even just exposure to things outside of this bubble can crush it online.
Ironically enough all these coaches LOVE to say how useless education or university is - partly true sure ok- but actually it does serve as a somewhat effective sorting mechanism for the real business world and not this bubble.
